Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has moved to lavish praise on one member of his squad, on the back of his side’s victory over Espanyol.
The player in question? Joan García.
Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago, making the short trip across Catalunya for a derby meeting with Espanyol.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a 2-0 result, to extend their advantage atop the La Liga table.
Of the opinion that as much was far from deserved, though, is Hansi Flick.
Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle tonight, Barcelona’s headmaster was drawn on his side’s hard-fought three points.
And the German tactician was typically blunt in his response, making use of the opportunity to ‘thank’ the outstanding Joan García:
“We didn’t deserve it, I will be honest. I have to say thank you to Joan García because he played unbelievably. He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”
