Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has spoken out on the displeasure showcased by Lamine Yamal, after being hooked from the club’s meeting with Chelsea earlier this week.
Barcelona of course made the trip to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, for their latest Champions League clash.
Wide-man Lamine was in from the off for the fixture, from his customary berth on the right flank.
En route to a concerning 3-0 defeat for the Blaugrana, however, the 18-year-old struggled in efforts to produce his usual level of brilliance.
With one eye on his side’s hectic run of outings over the weeks ahead, Hansi Flick, in turn, made the call to haul Lamine off during the 2nd-half.
This left the youngster looking less than impressed, on his way off the pitch in west London.
Drawn on as much during his latest press conference on Friday, however, manager Flick moved to play the incident down, assuring:
“It’s normal for him not to like being substituted. I was a player too, and sometimes I didn’t react well. Cucurella is one of the best in his position, and it’s not easy to play against him. Lamine has to focus on Alavés now.”
