Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is keen to link up with a fellow countryman in Catalunya’s capital over the months ahead.
This comes amid the understanding that the German tactician has identified Stuttgart star Finn Jeltsch as a primary target for the January transfer window.
Jeltsch, for his part, is a 20-year-old defender, who chiefly lines out in a central role.
He has thoroughly impressed with his performances at the heart of Stuttgart’s backline over the early weeks of the new campaign, with Jeltsch’s talents on the ball having garnered widespread attention.
Such gifts have already given rise to links with some of European football’s leading clubs, with Real Madrid one such side understood to be keeping a close eye on the situation of the German international.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word doing the rounds in Spain early this week is anything to go by, Los Blancos are not the only La Liga giants with their sights on Jeltsch’s signature. As per a report from Fichajes, citing journalist Ekrem Konur:
‘Barcelona are considering a move to position themselves for Jeltsch’s signing. This move could even take place in the winter transfer window, especially to increase the depth of Barça’s defence.’
It is added that ‘Hansi Flick has already recommended his promising profile’ to the Camp Nou brass.
