Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has earmarked a member of the attacking ranks at German outfit Stuttgart as the ideal long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski at the club.
That’s according to Fichajes, who point towards Nick Woltemade as the player in question.
Frontman Woltemade is for his part fresh off something of a breakout campaign on the books of Stuttgart in 2024/25.
All told, in 32 appearances between league and cup, the 22-year-old directly contributed to 20 goals.
This was followed in turn by a further six goals and three assists at this summer’s U21 European Championships.
Add such figures to the fact that Woltemade is capable of lining out in a whole host of attacking roles, and it should come as little surprise to learn of one of Spanish football’s leading clubs considering a move for his signature.
As per a report from the aforementioned Fichajes, amid an ongoing search for a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona:
‘The new name the sporting directors are keen on is Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade, a recommendation from Hansi Flick.’
Any such move on Barca’s part would be expected next summer, when the aging Lewandowski’s Camp Nou contract terms are due to expire.
