Hansi Flick provides double Barcelona injury update before Real Madrid

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided updates on the wellbeing of two leading members of his squad, ahead of this weekend’s showdown with Real Madrid.

The season’s first edition of El Clásico is of course set to play out this coming weekend.

In another highly-anticipated meeting between Spanish football’s two biggest clubs, 1st and 2nd in the La Liga table will lock horns at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Visitors Barcelona will for their part head into the matchup amid something of a recent injury crisis, which has made its mark on the club’s form on the pitch.

Two such players unavailable to face Girona this past weekend were Ferran Torres and Raphinha, struggling with respective muscular complaints.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of facing Olympiacos on Tuesday, the aforementioned Hansi Flick was therefore drawn on the wellbeing of both players.

And Barca’s headmaster went on to explain:

“We hope that Ferran Torres and Raphinha can be at the Clásico. Ferran’s scan was somewhat different, and playing tomorrow is a risk. On Thursday, we will see if he has improved.”
