Hansi Flick hails two Barcelona stars after Newcastle

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has moved to reveal his appreciation for the latest efforts of midfield pair Pedri, and Frenkie de Jong.

Barcelona of course marked their return to action yesterday evening.

In the first outing of the club’s Champions League campaign, the Blaugrana made the trip to England, for a meeting with Newcastle United.

When all was said and done, the visitors emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, courtesy of a Marcus Rashford brace.

It was two members of his engine room ranks, though, whom Hansi Flick was keen to highlight the impact of post-match.

Speaking to the media at St. James’ Park, Barca’s headmaster explained:

“With Pedri and also with Frenkie de Jong, it’s not easy to press us, and I think today both played a very good match. I’m very happy they’re playing with this confidence. We are a very young team, and I can see that the team is playing with that confidence, and for me, that is very important.”
