Hansi Flick fresh off ‘an extremely tough week’ on the Barcelona bench

The last week proved to be an emotionally-taxing one for Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick.

This comes amid confirmation that the German found it difficult to come to terms with his side’s defeat at the hands of Chelsea.

Barca of course made the trip to Stamford Bridge last Tuesday, to kick their pursuit of the Champions League trophy back into gear.

Upon the full-time whistle bringing proceedings to a close, however, the Blaugrana were brought crashing back down to earth, courtesy of a 3-0 defeat.

And as alluded to above, the significance of as much was not at all lost on the club’s headmaster.

After Flick was spotted looking nothing short of drained in the aftermath of Barcelona’s bounce-back victory over Deportivo Alavés on Sunday, insider Helena Condis explained to COPE that:

“I spoke with people close to Hansi Flick, and they tell me that he experiences the matches very emotionally, and that it was an extremely tough week for him. Although Flick tried publicly to send a positive message repeatedly in the press conference at Stamford Bridge, there are those inside the dressing room who tell me that they notice signs of exhaustion in him.”
