An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona was on Saturday afforded his senior bow for the club.
The player in question? Tommy Marques.
Tommy, for those not familiar with his name, is a 19-year-old midfielder, who chiefly operates in a deep-lying role.
The Spaniard has long secured for himself a place in the first-team setup at Barcelona’s training ground, understood to be something of a favourite of Hansi Flick.
And as alluded to above, on Saturday, Tommy’s ongoing efforts at the Ciutat Esportiva culminated in a special moment.
Barca were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming RCD Mallorca to the Spotify Camp Nou for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, the Catalans emerged on the right side of a 3-0 result, to extend their advantage atop the table.
And inside the closing stages of the fixture, Tommy was thrown into the fray by Hansi Flick, for his debut as a senior player.
