Hansi Flick drops Marcus Rashford hint before Barcelona’s trip to Newcastle

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has hinted that Marcus Rashford is set to play a leading role in the club’s upcoming meeting with Newcastle United.

This comes amid the ongoing absence of Lamine Yamal.

Barcelona are of course primed to make the trip to St. James’ Park on Thursday night, for the club’s Champions League season opener.

The Blaugrana head into the matchup brimming with confidence, fresh off a six-goal drubbing of Valencia over the weekend.

Shining en route to as much was the aforementioned Marcus Rashford, who produced arguably his best showing in Barca colours to date versus Los Che.

And as alluded to above, hopeful of a similar impact on the part of the Englishman back in his home country tomorrow evening is Hansi Flick.

Drawn on the absence of star winger Lamine Yamal from his squad for the Tyneside trip, Barcelona’s headmaster explained:

“We have Rashford, and that’s why he’s here — in case any of our attackers can’t play. He showed on Sunday how good he is, and I hope he shows it again in England.”
