Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an insight into the traits being sought by the club in their pursuit of a new centre-forward.
The topic of Barca’s striker search has of course emerged as a central talking point in the Spanish media over recent days.
This comes after Robert Lewandowski announced his imminent Blaugrana departure ahead of the expiration of the Pole’s contract in the summer.
Deco and co, in turn, have been left with the considerable task of replacing Lewandowski in Hansi Flick’s squad.
A whole host of goalscorers from across the continent have already been tipped as potential arrivals at the Spotify Camp Nou, from Julián Alvarez to João Pedro and beyond.
And as alluded to above, Barcelona’s headmaster himself recently outlined the profile of player being sought by the club.
Speaking during an exchange with the media, Hansi Flick explained:
“We need to look for a No. 9 that fits our philosophy, and should also be able to score goals.”
