Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has revealed his take that his side deserved no more than the point they earned during the club’s meeting with Rayo Vallecano.
Barca, of course, marked their return to action on Sunday night.
Fresh off a pair of victories to open the defence of their La Liga title, the Blaugrana made the trip to Madrid, for a clash with the aforementioned Rayo.
Flick’s troops entered the matchup in the knowledge that another win was needed to keep pace with arch rivals Real Madrid atop the table.
When all was said and done, however, Barcelona were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
This came after Lamine Yamal’s opener was cancelled out decisively by Fran Pérez midway through the 2nd-half.
The visitors to Vallecas were widely criticised for the level of their performance, having required a number of stellar saves on the part of no.1 Joan García to avoid what could have been a considerably worse result.
And as alluded to above, one individual in no two minds when it comes to the underwhelming nature of his side’s display on Sunday is Hansi Flick.
Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle in the Spanish capital, Barca’s headmaster explained:
“I think the point was enough for us; we didn’t deserve more. We made a lot of mistakes.”
