Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is ready to call upon an up-and-coming member of the club’s attacking ranks upon his return from injury over the weeks ahead.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Dani Rodríguez as the player in question.
Wide-man Dani for his part took his place centre stage in things during the final weeks of Barcelona’s 2024/25 campaign.
This came after the 19-year-old was drafted into the senior setup, before being afforded his first-team bow from the off in a la Liga meeting with Real Valladolid.
During the first-half, however, disaster struck.
Following a challenge in the hosts’ half at Zorrilla, Rodríguez was forced off, with what was later confirmed to be a shoulder dislocation.
The Spanish youth international, in turn, was forced under the knife to repair the problem.
Rodríguez was as a result ruled out of Barca’s pre-season tour of Asia, one which, it is understood, Hansi Flick was ready to call the winger up for.
As alluded to above, though, the talented attacker need not fret when it comes to his future prospects at senior level.
This come amid confirmation on the part of MD that:
‘Flick is highly considering Dani for the 2025-2026 season. He’s counting on him, although his preseason training isn’t complete yet and he’ll need time to get back into rhythm.’
