Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that he considers a member of his midfield ranks more than capable of filling two positions in the middle of the park this coming season.
The player in question? Gavi.
Youngster Gavi is for his part fresh off a starring display for Barcelona on Thursday.
Introduced off the bench during the Blaugrana’s friendly meeting with FC Seoul in South Korea, the 20-year-old shone on his way to a goal and an assist.
After a long-term spell on the sidelines with an ACL injury, Gavi is now finally beginning to look like the player who broke onto the scene as one of world football’s standout young talents once more.
Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s 7-3 victory yesterday, Hansi Flick, in turn, was drawn on his plans for Gavi for the upcoming campaign.
And Barcelona’s headmaster went on to confirm:
“I could see Gavi playing as a no.6 or as a no.8.”
