Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has revealed his take that his side were not deserving of even a point in their latest outing.
This of course comes fresh off an evening to forget for the Blaugrana.
Barcelona marked their return to action on Monday, making the short trip across Catalunya for a La Liga meeting with Girona.
Despite the knowledge that they headed into proceedings trailing Real Madrid by two points atop the table, however, the reigning Spanish champions failed to perform.
Following an action-packed affair at the Estadi Montilivi, Barca found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result.
Girona’s late winner came amid controversial circumstances, following a Claudio Echeverri challenge on Jules Koundé.
Speaking to the media following the full-time whistle, however, the aforementioned Hansi Flick was keen not to make any excuses for his side.
Drawn on Girona’s crucial 2nd of the night, Barcelona’s headmaster responded:
“The winner? I don’t want to speak about that. Everyone saw the situation before the second goal, but Girona deserved it. We defended very badly, especially in transition. We were too open. Our midfield was not in the right position.”
