Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has admitted that he is currently working hard to help defender Alejandro Balde rediscover his best form.
Left-back Balde has of course seen his name emerge as a prominent one in the media chatter surrounding Barcelona for several weeks now.
Amid ongoing struggles for minutes in Catalunya’s capital, the 23-year-old has seen his Blaugrana future called into serious question. Balde, it has been murmured, could even be on the move as soon as January.
Speaking during an appearance in front of the media on Monday, it therefore came as little surprise when the name of his struggling defender was put to the aforementioned Hansi Flick.
And Barca’s headmaster made use of the opportunity to throw his backing behind Balde, assuring that he has not yet given up on the once so highly-regarded Spaniard:
“I spoke to Balde and told him that this is normal. I have great respect for Balde, and I’m trying to help him regain his confidence. That’s what the coaching staff should do. He’s working hard to get back to his best, and I’m happy for him.”
