A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Girona is all set for a move to Saudi Arabia.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Iker Almena as the player in question.
For those not familiar with his name, Almena is a 20-year-old frontman, who generally lines out on the right wing.
The Spaniard has long been considered one of the standout up-and-coming talents in Catalunya, with his standout performances in pre-season having even culminated in Almena emerging from the bench in Girona’s opening day La Liga meeting with Real Betis.
Not only that, but he capped his cameo with the assist for the Blanquivermells’ equaliser in a 1-1 draw.
Safe to say, then, that it has come as a major surprise, on Wednesday, to hear of the youngster preparing to move on.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano:
‘Saudi side Al Qadsiah triggered the release clause to sign 2004 born Spanish talent Iker Almena from Girona.’
An agreement has been tied up with Almena and his representatives, too, with Girona set to pocket a sum in the region of €5 million for the move.
