The coaching staff at La Liga outfit Girona are continuing to sweat over the availability of a key member of the club’s attacking ranks for their return to action this weekend.
The player in question? Viktor Tsygankov.
Ukrainian international Tsygankov has long been struggling with a muscular problem, which proved enough to keep him out of Girona’s previous outing against Atlético Madrid.
The 26-year-old has linked back up with the rest of Míchel’s squad in training this week, with the hope, as a result, having been that he would be back available for selection this weekend, when Girona play host to relegation-battling Cádiz.
As much, however, remains far from a guarantee.
As revealed by Mundo Deportivo, Tsygankov has not yet reached a point in his recovery where he is considered to be match fit.
The versatile attacker is therefore in something of a race against time to face Cádiz, with the coming 24 hours set to prove decisive in whether or not Míchel opts to include Tsygankov in his matchday squad for Saturday night.
