Celta Vigo boss Claudio Giráldez pens new contract

La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have on Thursday announced that head coach Claudio Giráldez has put pen to paper on fresh terms with the club.

Tactician Giráldez, of course, was handed the first-team reins at Celta a little over a month ago.

As much came on the back of the dismissal of Rafael Benítez, amid what has proven a difficult campaign to date for all at Balaídos.

Giráldez, in his three outings since taking charge of the Celestes, has racked up one win, one draw, and one defeat.

And, evidently, his exploits en route to as much have proven enough to convince the Celta brass of his readiness to continue in the role long-term.

In turn, as per an official statement across the website and social media platforms of the Galician club:

‘Claudio Giráldez will continue in charge of the RC Celta first team until June 2025. In the last hours, the club and coach sealed an agreement that closes his continuity and that of the members of the current coaching staff of the celestial trainer.’
