La Liga outfit Girona have this week been hit with a fresh blow on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Azzedine Ounahi is set for an incoming spell on the treatment table in Catalunya.
Midfielder Ounahi has for his part proven himself one of the few bright sparks in what has been a hugely challenging opening to the new campaign for Girona.
The 25-year-old, signed from Marseille over the summer, has provided some much-needed guile and vision in a Blanquivermells XI otherwise sorely lacking in as much.
His latest telling contribution came last week, when Ounahi secured for Girona a hard-fought share of the spoils at Athletic Club courtesy of his first goal of the term.
Safe to say, then, that the latest word stemming from Míchel’s squad will come as a blow.
As per a statement across Girona’s social media platforms, just days on from Donny van de Beek being ruled out long-term:
‘Azzedine Ounahi is suffering from an injury to the soleus muscle of the left leg. The progression of the injury will determine his return to training with the group.’
Ounahi, according to Mundo Deportivo, is likely to miss around three weeks of action with his calf complaint.
