The brass at La Liga outfit Girona have set their sights on the permanent signature of a player to have spent last season plying his trade on loan with the club.
The player in question? Bryan Gil.
Wide-man Gil is for his part fresh off another season back in Spain, which saw the former Sevilla talent ply his trade with the aforementioned Girona.
Gil, all told, went on to rack up 32 appearances in the colours of the Catalan outfit, chipping in with four goals and three assists along the way.
The 24-year-old has since gone on to link back up with parent club Tottenham Hotspur, but the widespread understanding is that he does not feature in the plans of Lilywhites boss Thomas Frank in any form.
And if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then those behind the scenes at Girona appear eager to take advantage of this situation.
As per a report from journalist Nil Solà:
‘Girona reactivates the option to sign Bryan Gil permanently in this final week of the transfer market. The ideal situation would be to repeat an operation like that of Àlex Moreno and sign him once his contract is terminated. Total willingness from the player to join Montilivi.’
