Girona had a phenomenal campaign in La Liga last time out. They punched well above their weight and have qualified to the Champions League for the first time in their history thanks to their 3rd place finish.
They have their whole squad to thank for their impressive displays seen last year, but a handful of players were integral to the way the Catalan side went about their business.
One such player, who was of vital importance was Viktor Tsygankov, who managed eight goals and seven assists for the club.
Girona have been handed a boost ahead of next season’s La Liga campaign, as according to Mundo Deportivo, the club are almost guaranteed to hold onto their key player.
As much was seemingly confirmed at the club’s post-season festivities, when Tsygankov said: “Thank you very much for your support and love during the year, see you next season.“
There isn’t a lack of interest in prying the winger away from the club, with interest coming from the Premier League, but Girona will now be hopeful that he will be a key figure in their preparations for next season.
