La Liga outfit Girona have this week struck an agreement with French side Olympique Marseille, to bring in a member of the latter’s midfield ranks.
The player in question? Azzedine Ounahi.
Ounahi, for his part, is a 25-year-old midfielder, capable of lining out in a variety of roles in the middle of the park.
The Moroccan, capped on 40 occasions by his country, spent last season out on loan away from Marseille, with Greek giants Panathinaikos.
And Ounahi went on to thoroughly impress, to the tune of five goals and seven assists across all competitions.
Such production had since given rise to links with a number of clubs from across the continent over the course of the summer to date.
And as alluded to above, this week, one such suitor have won out in the race for his signature.
As per a report from market insider Matteo Moretto:
‘Girona have just finalized the signing of Azzedine Ounahi. Agreement with Marseille for 6m€ + % on future sale, as advanced by Ivan Quiros.’
