Getafe coach Quique Sánchez Flores receives a two-match ban

As communicated by Mundo Deportivo, Quique Sánchez Flores will have to serve a two-match suspension for his conduct during Getafe’s game against Girona last weekend.

Getafe suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Girona last Monday. Sánchez Flores was shown a yellow card at the end of the match by referee Alejandro Muñiz Ruiz for protesting his decisions.

As it was expected, the RFEF disciplinary body has chosen to suspend the Getafe coach for two games.

According to the ruling, Sánchez Flores will miss Getafe’s match against Villarreal this coming weekend, as well as the club’s fixture against Valencia at the Mestalla on the 4th of September. He will not be able to return to the bench until the 11th of September, when Getafe will host Real Sociedad at the Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Pérez in Madrid.

Having played for Los Che for 10 years between 1984 and 1994 during his professional playing career, missing this fixture will be especially disappointing for him.
