Georginio Wijnaldum reportedly agrees pre-contract deal with FC Barcelona

New FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has already started building his squad for next season. According to The Sunday Times, the LaLiga club have struck a deal with Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Sunday Times reports that the Dutch midfielder has decided not to renew his contract with the Premier League outfit and has signed a pre-contract with Barça, to become the first signing of Laporta’s second spell in charge of the Catalan club.

Wijnaldum’s current deal at Anfield runs until June 2021. Barça boss Ronald Koeman is believed to be an admirer of the midfielder, having spent time together with the Netherlands national team.
