Gennaro Gattuso: “I think Gayà is going to sign.”

Valencia travel to Barcelona to face Espanyol in the seventh round of La Liga, with kick-off scheduled at 2pm local time.

In his pre-match press conference that appeared on Marca, Gennaro Gattuso discussed whether José Luis Gayà will renew his contact or not:

“I’m not talking about it being 100% certain, but I think Gayà is happy. The club is making a very big effort for a big player. I think he is going to sign. We hope he does because if he doesn’t they will kill me.”

The Italian coach revealed what was discussed with owner Peter Lim:

“The owner knows what happens here, I feel very comfortable with him. I am happy with Layhoon here, when there is a problem she is quick to find a solution. We have talked a little bit about the winter market. I think we are going to change nothing or little, probably nothing.”

He also discussed how Edinson Cavani is doing at the club:

“I hope that he is at 100%. He has trained very well. He has more strength, he has trained with continuity. The match is different, but I am very happy with how he has worked these two weeks.”
