Former Barcelona star Gary Lineker has this week moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents of a current member of the Blaugrana’s frontline.
The player in question? Robert Lewandowski.
Veteran striker Lewandowski is for his part of course fresh off providing a timely reminder of his elite goalscoring talents last weekend.
Restored to Barcelona’s XI for a La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo, the Pole proved himself the star of the show, notching a hat-trick in a 4-2 Blaugrana triumph.
This took his tally to seven goals across a campaign heavily interrupted by injuries.
It also served in silencing some of Lewandowski’s most vocal critics.
And as alluded to above, late this week, the 37-year-old has been backed to continue shining in Barca colours by an ex-member of the Catalans’ ranks.
Speaking during an interview with Marca, Gary Lineker revealed his take that:
“For me, Lewandowski is one of the best number 9s of all time. Between him and me, I would choose him.
“He knows exactly how to play in this position, and he is a natural-born goalscorer, very calm in front of goal. I love him a lot as a striker.”
