La Liga giants Real Madrid have been forced to sweat over the wellbeing of another leading member of the club’s first-team ranks, in the buildup to the fast-approaching Club World Cup.
The player in question? Vinícius Jr.
Wide-man Vinícius was in from the off in the early hours of Wednesday, as Brazil locked horns with Paraguay in a crunch World Cup qualifier.
The 24-year-old went on to prove himself the game’s decisive figure, notching the only goal on the stroke of the interval to secure a vital three points for his country.
As alluded to above, though, it was not all smooth sailing for Vinícius at the Arena Corinthians.
During the 2nd-half, the attacker was on the receiving end of a blow to his knee, which ultimately culminated in Carlo Ancelotti hauling him off.
Vinícius was subsequently spotted being treated by the Brazilian physio team whilst on the bench.
As per a report from Real Madrid insider Melchor Ruiz, the injury, at present, is not thought to be serious.
But the medical staff in Spain’s capital nevertheless intend to keep a close eye on Vinícius, just seven days out from Los Blancos kicking their Club World Cup campaign into gear.
