An insight into the feelings of fans in France when it comes to the chances of Paris Saint-Germain getting the better of Barcelona in the upcoming European showdown between the clubs has today been forthcoming.
As much, of course, comes after the sides were pitted against one another on the continent.
As part of the draw for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Barcelona and PSG learned that they will face off in a two-legged affair, over the course of a week in April.
The tie marks a highly-anticipated one for a whole host of reasons, not least the return of ex-Blaugrana pair Ousmane Dembélé and Luis Enrique to Catalunya.
In addition, memories of perhaps the most famous comeback in the history of the Champions League have been swiftly evoked, as those of a Barcelona persuasion recall their side’s 6-1 return leg downing of PSG at the Camp Nou back in March of 2017.
So, could a similarly memorable Barca triumph be on the cards this time round?
Not in the eyes of supporters across France, that’s for sure.
On the back of this morning’s draw being made official, L’Équipe unveiled a public poll, regarding the chances of the Ligue 1 champions advancing to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
And, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, with over 38,000 votes cast, a whopping 82% of those to have responded backed PSG to manage precisely that.
