A former member of the academy ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has admitted that he remains hopeful of linking back up with the club down the line.
The player in question? Sergio Arribas.
Arribas for his part brought a close to his time on the books of Real Madrid back in the summer of 2023.
In search of consistent playing time, the now-24-year-old penned a long-term contract with Almería, then of the top-flight.
Arribas has since gone on to play a leading role for Los Indálicos, with his exploits across the current campaign in particular having turned heads.
With 19 La Liga 2 appearances to his name, the attacking midfielder has racked up a thoroughly impressive 15 direct goal contributions.
Such efforts have given rise to inevitable chatter surrounding a potential move back to the top tier of Spanish football.
Speaking during an interview with Diario AS this week, Arribas was therefore drawn on the possibility of linking back up with former club Real Madrid.
And the Spaniard was not shy in confirming:
”Yes, of course. I’ve always been a Real Madrid fan; I’ve played practically my entire life for them. They’re the team that shaped me and has given me practically everything. I hope I can return to Real Madrid someday.”
