A recently-departed member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid on Wednesday made use of an interesting analogy, to describe new Blancos star Kylian Mbappé.
The name of frontman Mbappé has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Madrid over recent days.
This comes after the Frenchman, on the back of a somewhat underwhelming start to life in La Liga, finally exploded into life.
En route to a 2-0 downing of Real Betis, Mbappé bagged both of Los Blancos’ goals, giving rise to a collective sigh of relief on the part of club, player and fanbase alike.
One individual, though, who was in no doubt whatsoever that the latest Galáctico arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu would ultimately come good, is Joselu.
Striker Joselu of course enjoyed his own season to remember on Real Madrid’s books last time out, notching 17 goals en route to a domestic and European double.
Speaking in an interview with Diario AS on Wednesday, the subject of Mbappé’s hit-and-miss start to life in Blancos colours was in turn put to the Spanish international.
And, in his response, Joselu went on to compare the former Paris Saint-Germain standout to ‘a bottle of ketchup’:
“I know what Madrid is like and I know the qualities that Mbappé has, and for me there is no doubt. Mbappé is like a bottle of ketchup. At first you press it and it doesn’t come out, but then it all comes out at once. He has already scored two goals against Betis and he will continue to score. Mbappé will make history at Madrid, he and all those around him.”
