The son of a former member of the attacking ranks at Real Madrid was on Friday afforded a call-up to first-team training by Blancos boss Xabi Alonso.
The player in question? José Antonio Reyes.
Reyes, son of the ex-Spanish international of the same name, has been plying his trade on the books of Real Madrid since back in 2019.
He is a versatile 18-year-old winger, who occupies many of the same positions on the pitch as his late father.
Reyes has long been making a name for himself as a potential future star in the making in Spain’s capital, currently lining out for the club’s Juvenil A side.
And as alluded to above, on Friday, such talents were recognised by none other than Real Madrid first-team headmaster Xabi Alonso.
As per a report from Blancos insider Javier Rodríguez Pascual:
‘A detail from Real Madrid’s training today: José Antonio Reyes, the son of Reyes, trained with the first team. He turned 18 this Wednesday.’
