Ferland Mendy: “We are going to give everything to win El Clásico.”

Real Madrid face Barcelona in El Clásico tomorrow afternoon, with kick-off scheduled at 4.15pm local time.

In an interview with Real Madrid TV that appeared on Mundo Deportivo, Ferland Mendy revealed that Los Blancos are ready to face their biggest rivals:

“We are fine. We want to win this El Clásico and we are going to give everything to win. It is a special match because we know that there is a lot of rivalry between the two teams and we are going to give everything to get the three points.”

Even though it was pointed out that Mendy has won every single El Clásico he played in, he does not believe that they should rely on that statistic alone for success:

“I don’t know if that’s a strength. I can say that in the ones I’ve played in we’ve played good games and we’ve done well. My profile is more defensive and I know how to get the best out of myself to help the team.”

“The most important thing is to be solid, to be together in defence and play collectively. I think we haven’t lost yet because we are very united, we work collectively, we understand each other and we are a team,” he added.
