Fears Barcelona summer signing has suffered a serious injury after being stretchered off in tears

Alarm bells have been set ringing behind the scenes at La Liga giants Barcelona on Wednesday evening. This comes after summer signing Jesse Bisiwu picked up a potentially serious ankle injury.

Winger Bisiwu for his part linked up with the Blaugrana late last month, after Deco and the Camp Nou brass brought a successful close to a long-term pursuit of a deal with Club Brugge.

The 18-year-old has since gone on to turn heads in training and match settings alike, with his flair, directness and dribbling talents cause for widespread excitement.

Bisiwu, in turn, was afforded a starting berth this evening, as Barca locked horns with Sabadell in the latest edition of the Catalan Cup.

As alluded to above, though, in the thick of the action, the young Belgian was at the heart of an altogether concerning incident. Whilst attempting to spring free from defensive pressure, Bisiwu was caught with a nasty challenge to his right ankle.

After being helped to the sideline by the Blaugrana medical staff, the youngster was subsequently loaded onto a stretcher, before being taken down the tunnel with tears in his eyes.

Fears surrounding a potentially significant injury for Bisiwu, as a result, are already beginning to spread.
