The father of now-former Barcelona star Ansu Fati has admitted that his son was not contacted by Blaugrana head coach Hansi Flick regarding his future.
Attacker Ansu saw his time on the books of his beloved Barcelona officially brought to a close on Tuesday.
After the 23-year-old spent the 2024/25 campaign plying his trade on loan with AS Monaco, the French outfit made the call to open negotiations over a permanent deal with their Camp Nou counterparts.
Eager to bring in some much-needed funds, Deco and co. in turn green-lighted Ansu’s exit on a full-time basis this week.
Speaking fresh off his son putting pen to paper on a long-term contract at the Stade Louis II, Bori Fati, Ansu’s father, was therefore drawn on the process which ultimately culminated in his transfer coming to fruition.
And Fati, in quotes cited by Fabrizio Romano, went on to admit that Hansi Flick did not play any role in the matter:
“Hansi Flick never spoke to Ansu, and nothing happened that could have changed his decision to leave.”
