Real Madrid star Dean Huijsen has this week moved to throw his full backing behind teammate Vinícius Jr.
This of course comes amid the ongoing criticism being aimed in the direction of the Brazilian by fans and the media alike.
Wide-man Vinícius has continued to grab the headlines across the season to date, often for less than positive reasons.
Most recently, the 25-year-old was widely targeted for his angry reaction to being hauled off during El Clásico.
One individual of the opinion that the criticism of his teammate remains ‘excessive’, though, is the aforementioned Dean Huijsen.
Drawn on Vinícius’ name during an interview with Radio Marca, defender Huijsen showed little hesitation in assuring:
“He is an incredible guy, a very good boy. He’s such a big player that when he does the slightest thing, you all criticize him. I think you criticize him too much, many times excessively and unnecessary. All the cameras are on him, and if you focus on someone with a camera for the 90 minutes of a match, you’re bound to see something. If you focused on me, you’d see it too, or on Militão, Asencio. You’d see something from everyone.”
