Ex-Real Sociedad star the subject of fan attack at airport

Former Real Sociedad star Nayef Aguerd was at the heart of an unsavoury incident in France on Monday evening.

That’s according to Marca, who have provided an insight into the situation.

Aguerd is for his part fresh off departing his new home of Marseille, to link up with the Moroccan national team ahead of upcoming fixtures against Bahrain and Congo.

The defender made his way to Marignane Aiport earlier today, ahead of boarding a flight to his home country.

Whilst waiting in the VIP Lounge, Aguerd was approached by a fan, who asked for a selfie with the 29-year-old.

From here, though, the exchange turned sour, as the fan, described as ‘unbalanced’, launched a verbal and physical assault against Aguerd.

As per Marca, citing local outlet BFM Marseille-Provence:

‘The individual, according to witnesses who witnessed the scene, was an “unbalanced” man who
started by raising his voice and ended up trying to slap the player.’

The ‘fan’ was subsequently dragged away from the scene, before being placed under arrest.
