La Liga outfit Espanyol have on Friday closed a deal for a fresh addition to the club’s defensive ranks.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Marash Kumbulla as the player all set to link up with the Periquitos, on loan for the 2024/25 campaign.
Kumbulla, for his part, was this summer deemed surplus to requirements by Italian heavyweights AS Roma, not in the plans of head coach Daniele De Rossi.
This comes after the 24-year-old spent the 2nd half of last season out on loan, with fellow Serie A outfit Sassuolo.
This coming term, though, Kumbulla will be plying his trade in the Spanish top-flight, with Manolo González’s Espanyol.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano:
‘Espanyol have agreed [a] loan deal to sign Marash Kumbulla as new centre back from AS Roma. Final detail sorted today as Kumbulla leaves Roma with immediate effect.’
