Espanyol head coach Manolo González refused to rule out the possibility of departing the club when drawn on his uncertain future on Saturday evening.
González, for his part, is now considered to be on the brink in Barcelona.
Espanyol marked their return to action earlier today, hopeful of steadying the ship following a run of just one point secured from an available 12.
When all was said and done in a trip to Racing Santander, however, the visitors found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result.
With his side now sitting in the La Liga relegation zone, Manolo González is therefore widely viewed as being under threat of dismissal.
Speaking during his post-match press conference on Sunday, the Spaniard was in turn drawn on the prospect of an imminent Pericos departure. And González went on to explain:
“I won’t talk about this issue. If I have to discuss it, I’ll do so with the sporting director. It’s a private club matter; whatever the club wants to discuss, we’ll have to sit down with them.”
