Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has this week come in for a public apology on the part of England national team head coach Thomas Tuchel.
This comes after Tuchel previously took firm aim at the midfielder for his behaviour on the pitch.
Bellingham has of course been a regular target of criticism from across the Spanish football landscape and beyond, since his arrival in Madrid two years ago.
This comes with the youngster often allowing his emotions to get the better of him, in exchanges with referees, opposing players and fans alike.
Drawn on as much during an appearance in front of the media prior to being named England boss, the aforementioned Thomas Tuchel, in turn, made clear his personal disgust with such behaviour.
The German went as far as to label Bellingham’s actions ‘repulsive’.
As alluded to above, though, this week, amid ongoing efforts to repair his relationship with his midfield star, Tuchel admitted that he is deeply ‘sorry’ for the harsh nature of his words:
“I used the word [repulsive] unintentionally, just to make it very clear. There was no message or hidden agenda. I’m sorry. I fully understood and understand that it’s my responsibility that I created these headlines, I’m experienced enough and should’ve known better, I should’ve done better. I contacted Jude straight away.”
