In his pre-match press-conference that appeared on Marca prior to Celta Vigo’s game against Atlético Madrid, Eduardo Coudet discussed his admiration for Diego Simeone and Iago Aspas’ potential call-up to the national team.
The Argentine manager told to those present that Atlético Madrid are a difficult side to play:
“They have a very rich squad and a coach who is one of the best in the world. It’s a game that will require us to be at 100 per cent. We’re going to try to adapt as quickly as possible to what the match demands. We will try to be the protagonists as always.”
He also revealed his admiration for Simeone:
“For me, he is one of the best coaches in the world and the best manager we have in Argentina. I’m full of praise for him. We are the only two Argentinian coaches left in La Liga. We try to work in the best way and represent our country.”
Coudet also hopes that Iago Aspas gets a call-up to the Spanish national team:
“I would love him to go because he would be happy and that’s what he wants. From here we are going to try to help him. I would be happy if he was there.”
