Premier League champions Chelsea have positioned themselves firmly in the race for Atlético Madrid star and Barcelona transfer target Julián Alvarez.
This comes amid claims that the Blues are giving consideration to what would be a historic proposal for the Argentine.
Frontman Alvarez has of course long seen his name take its place centre stage in the media headlines in Spain.
As much comes with La Liga champions Barcelona understood to have identified the former Manchester City man as the ideal long-term replacement for the outbound Robert Lewandowski.
As alluded to above, however, the Blaugrana are far from the only leading European club with sights on Alvarez’s services.
As per a report from Fichajes, Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are mulling over a massive €150 million bid to bring the World Cup winner back to England.
In the case of such an offer being tabled, Barca would likely find themselves left with no choice but to throw in the towel in their pursuit of Alvarez.
