Free agent striker Dušan Vlahović is continuing to hold out hope of securing what would mark a surprise move to Spain with La Liga champions Barcelona.
This comes as the Blaugrana’s centre-forward options on the market begin to dwindle.
It is of course common knowledge at this point that the Camp Nou brass are on the lookout for reinforcements up top with a view to next season. Following the departure of Robert Lewandowski, Hansi Flick’s squad has been left short on options through the middle.
For this reason, Deco and co. are eyeing a natural centre-forward signing. To date, however, despite links with a whole host of profiles from across the continent, Barcelona are yet to land their man.
And with as much in mind, the aforementioned Dušan Vlahović remains hopeful that he will ultimately prove to be the fallback option whom the Catalans land upon.
As per a report from Diario Sport, still a free agent following the expiration of his contract terms with Juventus:
‘Vlahović and his entourage are very aware of the evolution of the Blaugrana market and believe that, in the end, they will have options to sign.’
It is added that, though he is not considered a priority, the name of the Serbian ‘is on the table’ in Barcelona.
