Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has spoken about Kieran Trippier returning to the club and his availability for selection, having seen his FA suspension put on hold by FIFA after Atlético made an appeal.
Trippier was handed a 10-week ban for breaching FA betting rules, however, FIFA’s decision now means the England international has returned to the club’s training ground after missing the weekend win away to Alavés.
“It’s currently on hold and they will tell me more in the coming days,” said Simeone. “Trippier is back with us and we’re very happy to have him back. I gave him a hug and in the coming days, I’ll know more. We decided he would train separately. He’s an important player for us. He won’t be involved in tomorrow‘s game.”
