Diego Simeone explains ‘why Real Madrid have won all their matches’ this season

Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has moved to provide his take on why exactly arch rivals Real Madrid have proven so successful across the early weeks of the new season.

This comes ahead of tomorrow’s highly-anticipated Madrid Derby.

Real Madrid are of course in the thick of what has been a thoroughly productive campaign to date.

In seven fixtures across all competitions, Los Blancos have rattled off seven victories, enough to take their place as early La Liga leaders.

Safe to say, then, that a tough task awaits an altogether more inconsistent Atlético at the Metropolitano on Saturday.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, the subject of the success to have been enjoyed by those on the other side of the Madrid divide under the watch of new manager Xabi Alonso was in turn put to Diego Simeone.

And Atléti’s headmaster went on to explain:

“I live in the present. Real Madrid have improved in their collective play, there is work from the coach to press in higher areas, and that’s why they won all the matches.”
