Atlético Madrid’s 2-0 win away to Villarreal on Sunday night means that head coach Diego Simeone has levelled the club’s legendary coach Luis Aragonés on 308 wins in all competitions with Los Rojiblancos.
Simeone has reached 308 wins in 512 games, 99 less than the 611 that Aragonés needed. The Argentine coached has won 60% of his matches for the current league leaders.
Simeone has been breaking records year after year and in 2021 has become one of the top five coaches with the most wins in LaLiga history. With the away win over Villarreal, it brings him to 216 LaLiga victories.
