Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has provided an insight into the club’s intentions for the remainder of the transfer window.
And the news will no doubt come as music to the ears of the Atléti faithful.
This comes amid confirmation that the Rojiblancos, busy on the market of late, are by no means ready to rest on their laurels.
Instead, further reinforcements are being eyed, potentially in numerous positions on the pitch.
“The squad is not closed yet, we are still working on additions,” Diego Simeone began. “We know what we’re looking for and what we want. Work is being done to finalize the squad.”
When it comes to specific profiles, Atlético remain on the lookout for fresh blood both in the middle of the park, and at the heart of defence.
Chelsea star Conor Gallagher is the leading candidate for the former role, with a whole host of names being considered to add to the capital giants’ options at centre-half.
