Details of Ousmane Dembélé’s transfer from Barcelona to PSG revealed

Ousmane Dembélé has signed a five-year contract with PSG, Relevo have reported. It is thought that the transfer fee will be close to €50m. Unfortunately for Barcelona, they will only be able to keep €27m from the fee, and the rest will be for the player and his representatives.

Barça have decided that this option makes sense, as Dembélé’s contract will expire next summer, allowing him to leave as a free agent. The Catalan club decided it was more astute to receive some kind of fee, instead of losing the player for nothing.

Dembélé was someone who was signed with a lot of expectations on his shoulders, and in reality, he never met them. He frequently showed his brilliance and talent on a game-to-game basis, but consistency and injuries were always his biggest enemies.

The next step now is for Barça to search for the Frenchman’s replacement. The club and Xavi have always been huge admirers of Bernardo Silva, but the amount of money required to sign the Portuguese star made the transfer unlikely.

Pep Guardiola usually has a policy of letting any player leave if they want to, but he is reportedly putting his best efforts into getting Silva to stay. Barcelona in the meantime will keep looking at other targets.
