La Liga giants Barcelona have received a first official bid for midfielder Fermín López from Premier League outfit Chelsea.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Saturday provided an insight into the situation.
Fermín’s name has of course dominated the headlines across Spain and England alike over the course of the week to date.
This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the aforementioned Chelsea have set their sights firmly on a late-window deal for the 22-year-old.
Reports have varied when it comes to Fermín’s stance on a potential Stamford Bridge switch, giving rise to hope on the part of Enzo Maresca and his team that a deal could ultimately be found.
With as much in mind, Chelsea, in turn, have this weekend sent an official proposal to the Camp Nou for the Spanish international.
As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Chelsea send official written proposal to Barcelona for Fermín López! Initial proposal worth €40m has been submitted this afternoon right after the game. Chelsea awaiting answer from Barça after sending a proposal today.’
