La Liga champions Barcelona have received an improved offer from Chelsea for midfield star Fermín López.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.
The name of youngster Fermín has of course emerged as a leading one across Spain and England alike over the last 48 hours.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the aforementioned Chelsea have kicked into gear an all-out assault on the 22-year-old’s signature.
The Blues, it is understood, tabled an initial proposal for Fermín worth a sum in the region of €58 million.
With as much having not been accepted by those in the boardroom at the Camp Nou, however, the Londoners have since returned with an improved bid.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Chelsea, determined to sign Fermín, have increased their offer from €58 million to €65 million.’
Not only that, but this fee, it is claimed, would be paid in one installment, a potentially monumental financial boost for cash-strapped Barca.
