Details: Barcelona’s Erling Haaland transfer plan

An insight into the plans being laid out by the transfer team at La Liga giants Barcelona to land one of world football’s headline stars has this evening been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport’s David Bernabeu Reverter, who has confirmed that the Barca brass have set their sights firmly on the signature of Manchester City frontman Erling Haaland.

With the ongoing financial struggles of the Blaugrana of course public knowledge, it is claimed that a long-term strategy is in the works, to bring Haaland in with a view to the 2026/27 campaign.

As much was made clear to Rafaela Pimenta, the Norwegian’s agent, during a recent meeting with Barca sporting director Deco in Catalunya.

Joan Laporta, it is understood, has made Haaland’s signing a priority for 2026, when he intends to run for reelection as president at the Camp Nou.

The Spanish patron views the 23-year-old as a potential trump card to beat out the competition, confident that, in 24 months’ time, Barcelona will have returned to a level of financial stability which will allow for superstar additions.

With Haaland’s contract containing a release clause set at €175 million, the Catalans are in turn planning to spring a surprise on not only Manchester City, but all of European football, in signalling their return to the forefront of the game by way of a club-record signing.
